About us

Te Horo Harvest is a small organic farm with its own commercial kitchen located on the Hautere Plains in Te Horo, Kapiti, New Zealand/Aotearoa. We are a family business and source all the produce we don’t grow ourselves from organic growers within New Zealand.

From this delicious fresh produce - berryfruit, pip and stone fruit, vegetables and herbs, we make artisan jams, sugar-free fruit spreads, chutneys and tapenades.

We pick and make our preserves in season so when stocks run out we have to wait for the new season. But there is always something delicious growing in our orchard so there will always be seasonal treats.

Even in winter, when the bees come out on those warm crisp days, we are picking citrus for our marmalades (Kaffir Lime, 3-fruit, and Clementine Whisky).

At the first hint of spring the plum trees are already in blossom ready for our Raspberry Plum Spread, Damson Jam, Apricot Jam and a great favourite Thai Plum Chutney.

Pears are a constant staple, with several varieties through the season such as Doyenne du Comice, Starkrimson or Taylors Gold, to make our delicious Pear, Fig and Walnut conserve or Pear & Passionfruit Spread.

100% Fruit Jams

We have developed a range of “sugar-free” jams - made with 100% fruit. The “sweetening agent” is fructose extracted from local organic fruit.

We do use imported organic sugar in some of our products. And in some products we use the honey our bees have gathered on the farm, in the orchard, on the paddocks and in the native bush.

Coffee in the Garden

We sell directly to visitors to our farm shop and kitchen at 446 Otaki Gorge Road, at the beginning of the "Totara Tunnel" (where the trees form a tunnel across the road). We also sell fresh produce in season and honey from our bees. On fine days we serve coffee or tea in the gardens.
